Abstract
All the experiences and impressions of artists affect their work. Experiences gained by experimentation with media, environmental changes and intelligent visual growth often dictate the mode of communication. Part of my experiences have been the influence of the color, structure, and rythmic [sic] line in Indian cave frescoes. These frescoes, depicting scenes from the Jatak Tales, create an emotional and psychological impact; their sensuous movements breathe something of the warmth found in the Indian air. Their color, that of the earth, and their great linear emphasis have profoundly influenced me and are apparent in my paintings in the curves of the hard-edge and the flowing movements of washes.
