Abstract
Fourteen species of mammals (86 specimens) were collected and found to harbor 32 species of ectoparasites as follows: 3 species of Metastigmata (Ixodidae); 8 species of Mesostigmata (Laelapidae); 1 species of Astigmata (Labidophoridae); 5 species of Prostigmata (4 Myobiidae and 1 Trombiculidae); 9 species of Siphonaptera (4 Ceratophyllidae and 5 Hystrichopsyllidae); 4 species of Anoplura (Hoplopleuridae); 1 species of Mallophaga (Trichodectidae); 1 species of Coleoptera (Leptinidae); and 1 species of Diptera (Cuterebridae). Twelve species were new records for the state and all 32 were new for Winneshiek County.
