Abstract
The writer ahs been on the faculty of the State Normal and Industrial College at Ellendale, North Dakota since 1957. During this time he became concerned about the status of industrial arts in the public schools of North Dakota. Since instruction in industrial arts depends to a large extent on the facilities and equipment available for use by the individual teacher and the nature of the ship program, it would seem desirable for those colleges preparing industrial arts teachers to know the status of this subject area in the public schools of their state. Such information could be used to better prepare teachers for the situations as they now exist, and also to upgrade industrial arts instruction in the public schools. As far as could be determined, no comprehensive study of this kind had been conducted previously.
