Abstract
On April 22, 2022, Baritone Brandon Whitish and pianist Dr. Korey Barrett presented a recital of song literature in Davis Hall at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The first half of the program consisted of two sets of music, opening with Vier ernste Gesänge by Johannes Brahms, followed by four songs by Nadia Boulanger. The second half of the recital consisted of songs I, III, and V from Carlisle Floyd’s Pilgrimage and ended with “I Can Be a Help” from Ricky Ian Gordon’s The Grapes of Wrath.
