Abstract

Contralto Anna Zetterlund scheduled her graduate voice recital for April 29, 2020, to be performed with the assistance of Dr. Korey Barrett on the piano. Due to COVID-19 quarantine regulations, she was unable to present a live recital and instead met alternative requirements provided by her graduate committee. The repertoire selected for her recital included both common and less familiar art songs and arias, including works by Robert Schumann, Francis Poulenc, and John Ireland. In the report that follows, these pieces will be discussed with some depth in regards to their musical, poetic, and historical substance.
