Description
This dataset includes all data to reproduce the results of the manuscript entitled "Long-term productivity of production-scale, high-diversity prairie biomass feedstocks". These data are measurements of aboveground annual net primary productivity of four different biofuel feedstocks grown at the Cedar River Ecological Research Site in Black Hawk County, Iowa, USA (N 43.3861, W -92.22241). Full methods description is found in Madsen, Kathleen Loretta, "Productivity and community composition change in prairie biomass feedstocks" (2020). Dissertations and Theses @ UNI. 1037.
https://scholarworks.uni.edu/etd/1037. Data are uploaded as a comma delimited (.csv) file. Each row contains a unique biomass measurement. Column descriptions are as follows:
Format (Column -- Variable -- Description)
Column A -- plot -- a unique identifier for the plot location in which measurements were made
Column B -- soil -- an identifier of the type of soil at that location. Further soil descriptions are found in Madsen (2020).
Column C -- year -- the year of data collection
Column D -- feedstock -- the number of species contained in the biomass feedstock. A complete list of the species identities for each feedstock is found in Madsen (2020).
Column E -- biomass -- the total amount of dried biomass, reported as Mg / ha / yr

Methodology
Ten random quadrats in each of 48 plots were clipped at ground level, dried to constant biomass, and combined to estimate aboveground net primary productivity. This was done at peak biomass (between August and November) each year for 10 years. Full methods description is found in Madsen (2020).
