Mag Pie magazine

I am the founding editor of Mag Pie magazine, and I have just completed the first year of this project. Mag Pie is a Cedar Valley-based, arts and culture themed, non-profit online magazine that focuses on highlighting interesting people of Iowa and their talents, based on themed quarterly issues. Approximately one month after each issue is released, I host an in-person event that contributors and readers are invited to. This provides an opportunity to connect people with similar interests in real life, and allows for networking and socializing around the theme of the issue. My goal for being a part of the Community Engagement Day is to raise awareness that Mag Pie exists, and to increase readership by getting attendees to sign up for my mailing list.
