Project Summary

The University of Northern Iowa's Green Iowa AmeriCorps program is the state's leading national service organization committed to environmental stewardship, energy conservation, and sustainability. Green Iowa AmeriCorps provides comprehensive, boots on the ground support as it relates to energy and community, environmental education, volunteer engagement, and professional development. This project will showcase how the Green Iowa AmeriCorps program is positively impacting communities all over the state of Iowa through three specific program initiatives that bring direct service to people in their homes, schools, and communities. It will also demonstrate the project's commitment to building skills and experiences to prepare program members to be the next generation of 'green collar' workers to meet the professional and environmental demands of our future.
