Abstract

This instructional unit is intended for use in helping secondary and postsecondary business students develop their communications skills. The course is designed to be taught in six weeks in conjunction with the sixth edition of "Business English and Communication;" a textbook published by McGraw-Hill. Chapters addressing listening; speaking; writing; and language usage skills are included. Each chapter contains some or all of the following: introduction; behavioral objectives; unit outline; pretest; activities; posttest; evaluation criteria; expansion activities; expansion references; and student handouts. The chapter on speaking also includes a unit and activities dealing with telephone usage. Guidelines for selecting activities; answers for the communication unit; a bibliography; and expanded references conclude the guide. (MN)
