Abstract
This piece of original short fiction takes a lyrical approach to the modern fairytale. By integrating motifs used in original fairytale literature, this piece honors the genre while also bringing it into a contemporary context. This piece, “Mother Had Said” explores ideas of community and growth in an often times ravenous world.
