Abstract

  • Roughly half (46%) of American adults aged 30 or older show signs of gum disease.1
  • Improper tooth-brushing technique – in particular, excessive pressure when brushing – can cause inflammation and recession of the gums due to abrasion (gingivitis).2
  • While there are ways to track and prevent excessive pressure (smart brushes have this feature built in), these are expensive solutions that require specialized equipment.
