Description

The N!gga(er) Word is a teaching unit that focuses on efforts to understand the connotations of N!gga(er). The unit explores language choices - the decisions people make when demonstrating brotherhood, anger, and/or frustration. Those decisions reveal that as a society we are not fully aware of the historical denotations of N!gga(er) or the repercussions of using such terminology in our daily lives. Social media and networks shape the connotation of N!gga(er), thus shaping the way it is used.
