It depicts a tall woman in a judge's robe standing behind a high bench. A woman in a police-style uniform and large hat holds a tiny, diminutive man up in front of her by the collar. The officer says, "He wants his rights," and the judge points down at the man, saying, "Life sentence." The officer has a rolling pin tucked into her belt. An elaborate artist's signature is in the lower left corner. Text near the lower border reads, "Copyright 1908 by Walter Wellman, number 4011." A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
