A handwritten message reads, "Private Wendell Lambert, McChord Field, Washington, U.S. Army. Dear Father, How are you. I am okay. I got that stuff you sent me and that letter too. I was glad to hear from you all. I got $21 last month. I may get $50 this month I hope. It is raining and cold here now. I wish I could come back east. I will write more tonight. Well good luck and good by. Write when you can. Love, Wendell Lambert." The card is addressed to "Mrs. and Mr. T. W. Lambert, Kempton, Illinois." A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
