The woman has dark hair and is seen in profile, looking to the right. A green one-cent U.S. postage stamp is in the top right corner. A postmark shows Loyal, Nebraska, September 22, 1909. A line divides the left side, labeled "This side for correspondence," from the right side, which is labeled "This side for address." A handwritten message in pencil on the left side reads, "Dear Cousin, Received your card a long time ago and have waited a song time to answer. Where are you teaching this year? We have the dandiest teacher, Avilda Hurless. Perhaps you know her, she went to institute this summer. Well goodbye answer soon." It is signed, "Lovingly, Theresa." The right side is addressed to Miss Nellie McDermott, McKinley, Nebraska. A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
