Description
Alt text: An anti-suffrage postcard depicts a suffrage meeting in a large hall with a large audience of mostly women. On a low platform, a heavy-set, stern-looking woman wearing a dark skirt, a long reddish-brown coat, and a dark hat stands with one hand on her hip and the other raised dramatically, addressing the crowd. To her left on the podium, another older woman in a green jacket and dark hat is seated, holding a piece of paper. On the wall behind the speaker, a poster reads, "votes for women," and another reads, "we will never give in." The caption below the image reads, "What are men, who are they, where are they, et cetera, et cetera." The artist's initial are in the lower right and appear to be "A. M." A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
