Description
p>Alt text: An anti-suffrage postcard depicts a man, dressed in a black coat and top hat and carrying an umbrella and a suitcase, having just returned home. The room appears a bit shabby with pictures hanging crookedly on the wall and a dirty, patched red rug. A doll sits on the floor at near his feet. He stands over a dining table with a white table cloth and a single place setting. He looks at a note on the table. The note reads: "Gone to a meeting. The children are next door and the cold meat is in the pantry." A poster on the back wall reads, "women's rights." The caption below the image reads, "Well I’m _." The artist's initial are in the lower right and appear to be "A. M." A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
