Description
Alt text: An anti-suffrage postcard depicts a scene of conflict in a crowded public meeting room. A stern, heavy-set woman wearing a black hat, a long coat, a white shirt with a red tie, a red belt, and a long blue skirt stands with her hands on her hips, confronting a smaller, neatly dressed man in a suit with gray pants and green striped vest. Scattered on the floor around her are papers, including a large one labeled "votes for women." In the background, a crowd of mostly men are seated, watching, and one women, dressed in red, stands, waving a red poster that says, "votes for women." The caption below the image reads, "Now Madam, will you go quietly or shall I have to use force?" The artist's initial are in the lower right and appear to be "A. M." A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
