STEM Stories
UNI STEM Stories is a collection of 1–2-page articles about the people engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors, research, events, and activities on the University of Northern Iowa campus. STEM Stories were published from fall 2014 through spring 2020 and were written by STEM Support Services Graduate Assistants, the UNI STEM Coordinator, and an undergraduate volunteer author. Many of the stories are profiles of undergraduate students from a variety of majors and academic and personal backgrounds, such as first-generation college students, transfer students, multigenerational UNI families and international students. The target audience for the collection is middle school students and the primary goal is to communicate to Iowa students that STEM happens here, and their opportunities are vast.
