Abstract
The blue-green algae Microcystis aeruginosa and Gleothricia echinulata, obtained from blooms in lakes of northwest Iowa, have been shown to contain at the most trace amounts of digitonin-precipitable sterols and show a low level of isotopic incorporation from l-14C-acetate into these compounds.
