Abstract
Two species of Vannella from a freshwater pond were cultured in distilled water, alfalfa, rice medium and described. Both species had a cyst form, radiate form, and trophic form. One, Vannella multimorpha sp. nov., was distinct in that large uni- and bi-nucleated Vannella were formed during the life cycle. From the large trophic Vannella multimorpha small amoebae buds were developed. Illustrations of the life cycle and microphotographs of this new species are represented.
