Abstract

Thiolbenzoic acid in refluxing benzene reacts with As2O3 or As2S3 to give arsenic (III) thiobenzoate. Under similar conditions dithiolterephthalic acid gives a product which appears to be As (SOCC6H4COSH)3; thiolacetic acid gives acetyl sulfide; and phthaloyl sulfde is unreactive.
