Abstract
A preliminary study of chromosome numbers in oak sprouts was undertaken to determine the frequency of polyploid stump sprouts. A satisfactory method of making slide mounts using lateral bud primordia of newly burst buds was developed. None of the limited number examined to date was polyploid.
