Abstract
The enzyme inhibitors, malonate, iodoacetate, oxalacetate, R.N.A. and D.N.A. have been applied to the succinic dehydrogenase systems of the intact and homogenized embryos of the grasshopper, Melanoplus differentialis. All inhibit succinic dehydrogenase except R.N.A. and D.N.A. Malonate seems most specific in its action and seems to behave as an "ideal inhibitor".
