Abstract
Previous studies have shown a number of factors to be moderately correlated with accident records and other criterion of driving performance. Among these are knowledge of driving, attitudes towards traffic, experience and certain personality characteristics. It is hypothesized that a composite of these categories using selected items should raise the predictive value of such an instrument. Consequently a type of inventory has been assembled from several selected categories of known reliability and validity into a composite form of 163 items covering certain aspects of personal history, experience, preferences and attitudes. Methods of scoring will he presented along with certain preliminary data obtained. Validity of the inventory using a rating criterian was second highest out of .14 predictors.
