Abstract
Wholesale but selective destruction of clams, by a cyclonic storm, occurred last summer along the western and northwestern shores of Spirit Lake, Iowa, where shallow water, soft bottom, gentle slope and abundance of clams were correlated with an unusually heavy and long continued on-shore wind.
