Abstract
The polypores, commonly called Bracket Fungi, are woody or tough and in the forms of brackets of various shapes and sizes. There are three classes of fungi, the third being the Basidiomycetes. Under this class there is a subclass, the Eubasidii, which contains the order Agaricales and the family Polyporaceae. Several months as occasion afforded were spent in collecting polypores in Henry County, Iowa, within a ten mile radius of Mt. Pleasant.
