Abstract

Objectives:

1. Students will analyze temperature distributions on a map.
2. Students will compare and contrast temperature variations on a weather map.

National Science Standards: All students should develop an understanding of: structure of earth system, science and technology, risks and benefits, and science and technology in society.

Note to the teachers: The following level 1 weather activities need to be done sequentially as each lesson builds on concepts learned in previous lessons. If your students have a good understanding of Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures, you might consider bypassing the first two activities and begin with Activity 3-Patterns of Temperature.
