Why Teach Fungi in High School?

Abstract

Student and teacher alike should be more aware of fungi. The reasons I state for this assumption are: fungi are interesting; they play an important role in human affairs; fungi are associated with many areas of biological sciences; they are easily utilized in the classroom; and they are easy to obtain and work with.
