About This Journal
The Iowa Science Teachers Journal (ISTJ) is a publication of the Iowa Science Teachers Section (ISTS) of the Iowa Academy of Science. The journal is meant to be a useful resource for professional development, and is devoted to helping ISTS members teach children. Articles in ISTJ, which include many classroom activities, make explicit the key role of the teacher in promoting the learning goals of effective science education.
