The Cover: Robert M. Lang, a senior this fall at Oelwein Community Schools, was a participant in a nine-week research participation program for high-ability secondary school students. Robert worked in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph I. Ruth, Professor of Biochemistry in the State University of Iowa's Biochemistry Department. His research experiences have resulted in an article entitled "The Absorption. Blood Levels, and Plasma Protein Binding of Acetylsalicylic Acid and Salicylic Acid" which appears as a part of a set of similar articles written by thirty-three research participants at SUI during the past summer. The NSF Science Programs for high-ability students provide an enriching experience in science which is rarely available in the high school or at the college undergraduate level. Provision for advanced students in science is the theme for this issue of ISTJ.
