Abstract
How old is the earth? Where did it come from? How was it made? Junior high students are determined to solve all life's mysteries and therefore geology with its wealth of clues is a likely target for their curiosity. The earth sciences seem to hold an almost mystical fascination for the junior high age child possibly because the adolescent is beginning to realize he is part of the whole universe and not just of a family, and is using his powers of observation to see what this universe holds.
