Abstract
The authors explore ways School-to-Work ideology and the NCA K-12 standards can be used in the classroom. They first call for an educational reform that is both student-centered as well as teacher-centered. It is argued that skills needed in the workplace correlate well with the N CA standards, and traditional exercises and projects can be utilized to cover the learning and application of communication skills. The authors then provide sample activities to help teachers make the connection between NCA standards and School-to-Career strategies.
