Abstract

Teachers and instructors at various levels of educational institutions are constantly on the alert for effective methods to teach management of conflict. Understanding the different conflict styles of oneself and others can better prepare oneself for the actual problem-solving stage of negotiation. The purpose of this article is to present a strategy for teaching negotiation and conflict styles. The approach presented here was designed for a college level undergraduate course, however, teachers in high schools or middle schools may make adaptations to meet their specific needs and age group.
