Abstract
An outstanding speech teacher at a small liberal arts college must have a desire to continue to learn about everything, an interest and knowledge in all areas of speech, the patience and faith to teach public speaking to over 150 students per year, a willingness to share ideas and to challenge others in the field, the dedication and ability to promote the field of speech on campus and beyond, and the skill to set an example of excellence in speaking.
