Abstract

Learning through technology will happen and is happening all around the country and the world. We must incorporate the training and information opportunities for all our students if they are to keep up in the new "information age." Education can no longer be focused on teaching facts; it must be centered on locating, assimilating, and communicating ideas. I believe that the next great defining characteristic of "haves" and "have nots" will be their level of information and communication skills.

Schools will have to commit to the development of a technology plan and to include technology information and communication skills in curriculum development. This means providing time, space, money, and training for all involved from administrators to teachers to students. Equal opportunities will not happen without planning and training.
