Abstract
Technology planning for schools is not a simple issue. Issues related to technology planning cover a large spectrum of considerations including faculty and staff involvement, student involvement, community involvement, funding, long-term planning, evaluation, identifying required student skill areas, partnerships with the private sector, other schools and higher education, goal setting, educational missions, teacher training, new ways of teaching, research, design, facilities, and a variety of other issues.
Technology planning, per se, should not exist in a vacuum. Rather, it should be integrated into the entire school planning process. However, for purposes of managing the issue at hand, the following process was identified.
