Abstract
The role of the teacher will definitely change as technology is infused into the curriculum. It is important to explore the current uses of technology in the learning environment and the various changes in the role of teachers. The main points to consider are that teachers will become facilitators of knowledge, technology will be a tool to help us deliver the kind of instruction we want, and technology will help students apply what they're learning in a real-world context. Administrators and educators will need long-term professional development opportunities at their school with individuals skilled in integrating technology into curricula. Adequate time for training must be provided. In the 1990s, America is faced with reforming its education system to improve the competitiveness of our nation in the world community. To maintain a leadership role in the 21st century, educators must take steps toward system reform.
