Abstract
In education, as in business, public relations are extremely important. Good public relations keep people informed and encourage them to find out more about the producer and the product. The best way for the local school district to do this is to get members of the public into the schools. It is the job of everyone who works for, or is involved with, the schools to forge positive links with the community.
Because fewer homes now have students in school and thus have fewer ties to the K-12 local education system, it is important to get people into the schools to generate support for the local education system. This is especially true when districts are trying to improve their physical facilities. Plays, musical concerts, student authors' days, carnival night, and athletic events are all occasions which draw more than just parents to the schools. Also, in this day of emphasis on continuing education, offering adult education classes is a great way to get the public into the schools.
