Abstract
The objective of this paper is to describe the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance and the emergence of multi-drug resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteria as it relates to the athletic medicine setting, while also describing prevention and treatment options for infections the emerge in the athletic medicine setting.
