Abstract
Mayo Clinic, rated as the best clinic/hospital system in the United States, provides a range of leisure opportunities for patients as part of their medical service delivery. Leisure services, provided by different units throughout the medical campus, is based on decreasing stress, thus helping patients having a more optimistic and heathier psychological experience when involved in medical treatment or diagnostic procedures. Cafeteria and quality-of-life programming are the two leisure programming approaches most evident at Mayo Clinic (Rochester) and can be duplicated in other clinic/hospital settings.
