Abstract
Identifying the confidence levels of youth workers in nonprofit settings in order to improve youth work practices is gathering interest in the literature and in the field. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between nonprofit youth development workers’ sense of self-efficacy, as measured by their beliefs in their abilities to grasp and apply the theories, the professional values, and the applied skills of their field, and four independent variables: gender, age, youth work experience, and youth work training. Research on youth worker self-efficacy will allow youth development professionals to have a greater positive impact on the children and youth they serve.
