Abstract
Over the decades, leadership studies have been vast in scale and scope. This is not surprising given that human resources are an organization's most valuable resource. This study specifically addresses how the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA), develops students for careers in the nonprofit sector. This study was designed to answer the following question: Do the activities in the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Associations contribute to the learning and leadership development of students? Based on the results of this study it is recommended that students be encouraged to participate in student associations for at least three semesters. Also, students that join the NLA student association, or any other student organization, need to be engaged, attend meetings and participate in the activities facilitated by the organization.
