Abstract
Career transitions are common and even expected in today’s society, especially for individuals who are midlife (Crane, O’Hern, & Lawler, 2009, p. 24). Utilizing a case study approach, this project discusses the experiences of four individuals who transitioned from roles as successful practitioners to university faculty members. Their joys and challenges, in addition to the implications of their experiences, are described. Finally, tips on how to successfully move from practitioner to faculty member are offered.
