Abstract

Conscientious executives trying to build a structure of effective human resource management in their organizations are often confused by the involved language and apparent inconsistencies of management theories. Because of this confusion, strategies growing out of these theories are not always used effectively. But if one examines carefully what the theorists say, it can be seen that a common language and a common set of integrative assumptions underlie most, if not all, of their ideas. And their suggestions can be coordinated for maximum effectiveness.
