Abstract
Two morphotypes of Synedra cyclopum Brutschy obtained from two depths and time periods at Lake West Okoboji, Iowa, were quantitatively analyzed for value character similarity. Analysis and comparison with earlier collections demonstrate sufficiently stable characters to describe a new variety. A description and Latin diagnosis of the new variety S. cyclopum var. incisa Cunningham is presented. Copyright © 1978, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
