Abstract
There is no limit to the universe, and humans' exploration of nature will never end. What is beyond the ken of our scientific knowledge, we reach with our imagination and our hearts. Whether in the East or in the West, folktales have been and will continue to be an imaginative projection of our exploration of nature and of our love and hate relationship with nature. As part of nature, animals will remain our friends and foes in our imaginary world in the centuries to come. © 1993 Human Sciences Press, Inc.
