Abstract
An intuitive, graphical user interface control structure for the automated rework of fine pitch components is described. Experiments performed on the prototype system employing the interface yielded results that demonstrate the feasibility of performing vision guidance, removal, cleaning, solder paste dispensing, component placement, and laser soldering for automated circuit board rework with highly reliable solder joints.
