Abstract
Corporate high-mindedness seems to be sweeping the globe. One international organization after another seems to be announcing initiatives to promote human rights, the environment and worker protections. The purpose obviously is public relations-improving the tarnished images of global corporations and portraying weak-willed institutions as attentive and relevant to the turmoil of world-wide controversy. This study examines social change initiatives by international organizations as public relations strategies. © 2002 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
