Abstract
Communities throughout the U.S. are increasingly concerned about the negative impact of divorce on children and their families. This article reviews the literature reporting research on the effectiveness of court-endorsed divorce parenting education programs that have arisen as a community-based format to address these concerns. Findings from 19 descriptive and initial explanatory research articles are discussed. Despite their increasing popularity, only limited systematic or empirical research into the effectiveness of these programs has been conducted. Along with identifying existing roadblocks to research into divorce-parenting education programs, the article outlines potential strategies for future investigations. © 2002 by The Haworth Press, Inc.
